1. Visit the Hollywood Sign

The “Hollywood” sign located on Mount Lee in Griffith Park is a classic American icon that has appeared in tons of movies and pictures. You can enjoy a beautiful hike through Griffith Park to reach the sign and take a picture with the iconic piece. You might even be lucky enough to spot a celebrity along the way!

2. See Venice Beach

Venice Beach, famous for things like Muscle Beach and the Venice Boardwalk, is a must-see for any visitor to LA. Filled with eccentric characters, great shopping, and excellent food, Venice Beach is a chance to experience LA in its purest form. 

Make sure to visit the Venice Canal Historic District to see the manmade canals and see the exquisite properties that line the canals.

3. Visit the La Brea Tar Pits

If you’re a fan of history, you will love this attraction. Formed tens of thousands of years ago when natural asphalt rose out of the earth, the tar pits captured many prehistoric animals who wandered too close. The tar pits preserved the bones, which were recovered by researchers. 

They took the specimens and put them on display at the nearby George C. Page Museum, which is dedicated to researching the tar pits and the creatures that are still inside of them. 

4. Walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Honoring the greatest of Hollywood’s actors, actresses, directors, and personalities, the Hollywood Walk of Fame holds the stars dedicated to these cultural icons. If you have a favorite Hollywood star, you can take the opportunity to have your picture taken with their star. 

You can also see the collection of crazy characters and entertainers that line the Walk of Fame. 

5. Explore Rodeo Drive

Rodeo Drive is a two-mile stretch of road in Beverly Hills that hosts a number of high-end boutiques. With brand names like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and GUESS, these stores offer the pinnacle of luxury shopping. Even if you’re not buying anything, it can be a thrill to look through these stores and visit iconic locations along Rodeo Drive. 

6. Admire the Broad

A contemporary art museum in downtown LA, the Broad is a work of art in itself. The beautiful building is a feat of modern architecture, and inside it holds some very famous pieces of art. Their collection includes pieces by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and Cy Twombly, among many other famous artists. 

7. Relax on Zuma Beach

Most of California’s beaches are short and narrow, meaning they can get crowded very quickly. But Zuma Beach is much larger, with over 1.8 miles of beachfront. With volleyball nets and plenty of places to lie down and enjoy the sun, Zuma Beach is a great place to enjoy the sunny weather in LA. 

8. Eat at Grand Central Market

LA is in no shortage of awesome food, and Grand Central Market is one of the best places to eat in the city. Located in the lobby of the Homer Laughlin Building, Grand Central Market is an eclectic collection of food stalls that offer falafels, sandwiches, Thai food, tacos, and other delectable items. 

9. Take a Drive on the Pacific Coast Highway

Located just outside the city, the Pacific Coast Highway is a beautiful stretch of road the follows the coastline. Offering beautiful cliffside views of the ocean and a long, gently winding road, the Pacific Coast Highway is a pleasure to drive and experience. With tons of great places to stop and eat along the way, this drive is a great day trip for anyone. 

10. Hike Runyon Canyon Park

With a relatively easy 3-mile loop, Runyon Canyon Park is a great place to get outdoors and experience the beauty of the wilderness surrounding LA. With two paths to the top of the canyon, you can make your way to the top and take scenic photos of LA. 

During the summer it may be too hazy, but during the winter and fall you may be able to spot the Pacific Ocean from the top!

11. Visit The Getty Center

Located in the Brentwood area of LA, the Getty Center is a museum that houses some of the most famous artworks in the world. Comprised of the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, this beautiful campus has beautiful architecture and incredible works of art. 

With art pieces from famous artists like Rembrandt and Van Gogh, this museum is the chance to experience some of histories greatest artworks. 

12. Explore Universal Studios Hollywood
