Las Vegas welcomed over 42 million tourists in 2018 alone. And there’s a reason why so many people flock to Sin City.

While you may have images of gambling, drinking, and Hangover-esque shenanigans running through your head, there’s so much more to Vegas than this. In fact, some of the best activities take place outside the casinos.

Don’t believe us? Keep reading to discover the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas other than gambling. You’ll soon see why it’s one of the hottest summer spots of 2019!

1. See a Show

Las Vegas is home to some of the greatest shows.

There are a whopping 7 different Cirque du Soleil shows, including ones centered around music by Michael Jackson and the Beatles. There’s even a risqué show called Zumanity if you’re looking for some adults-only fun.

Of course, the shows don’t stop at Cirque du Soleil. There are also tons of musicians, magicians, and comedians as well as the famous Blue Man Group. No matter what type of show you want to see, you’re sure to find something that blows your mind in Las Vegas.

2. Explore the Hotels

The hotels in Las Vegas are so much more than hotels—they’re full resorts packed with casinos, shops, activities, eateries, and plenty of photo ops. Some of the best include the Venetian, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Paris Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan, and New York-New York.

While the outsides look amazing on their own, be sure to spend time walking around the inside. Check out the Bellagio gardens, go to the top of Paris’s Eiffel Tower, and ride the New York-New York rollercoaster. Of course, don’t forget to get some themed food while you’re there, like a hearty or sweet crepe by La Creperie in Paris Las Vegas.

3. Ride a Gondola

Who says you have to fly all the way to Italy to ride a gondola?

The Venetian has a whole canal built into the hotel complete with bridges and picturesque buildings. Even the high ceilings are painted to look like the sky, so you’ll feel like you’re really in Venice as your gondolier guides you down the canal.

4. See the Bellagio Fountain Show

The Bellagio fountain show is one classic Las Vegas attraction that you can’t miss. The fountains display a water show which is synchronized with music and lights to really captivate you.

It runs every half an hour during the day, and after 8:00 pm, it runs every 15 minutes, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to watch it. There’s also a variety of shows and they’re all absolutely free, so make sure you see a few to get the full experience.

5. Relax at a Spa

You’re sure to be tired after spending a few days walking up and down the strip. So, why not give yourself a break to be pampered?

There are plenty of spas to choose from, although some of the best are in the Cosmopolitan, Aria, and the Venetian. Enjoy a facial or a deep tissue massage, so you’ll be ready to hit the strip again tomorrow!

6. Go Ziplining

There’s not one, but two amazing ziplines in Las Vegas.

The first is the VooDoo Zip Line at Rio. You’ll start on the 50th floor and fly 800 feet down, going as fast as 33 miles per hour.

The next is SlotZilla on Fremont Street. You can enjoy this zip line either sitting and leaning back or laying on your stomach to feel like you’re flying down the street.

Both ziplines give you amazing views of Las Vegas and a truly unforgettable experience.

7. Eat at a Buffet

Vegas is full of amazing eateries, fine dining, and celebrity restaurants. But it’s the buffets that are iconic.

Depending on where you go, you can find a large variety of international cuisine and even some amazing seafood, including crab legs. Some of the best buffets are the Wicked Spoon (in the Cosmopolitan), Bacchanal Buffett (in Caesars Palace), and the Bellagio Buffet.

8. Go to a Day Club and a Night Club

If you’re looking to have your ultimate Hangover experience, you’ll need to hit a night club. Some clubs, like Drai’s in The Cromwell, have big-name artists like DJ Pauly D or Wiz Khalifa play.

Of course, drinking isn’t reserved for nighttime in Las Vegas. Be sure to hit a day club too. Most of these are pool parties, which is a great way to cool down in the harsh Nevada heat.

9. Take a Helicopter Tour

Las Vegas gets even more beautiful when viewed from above. And the best way to get that stunning view is on a helicopter tour, especially if you go at night when the strip is all lit up.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the strip for the day, consider taking a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. Most tours will take you past the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead too, so you can get the full experience.

10. Go to Fremont Street

Do you want to experience a nice mix of old and new? Then head over to Fremont Street.

Here you’ll find some older casinos, including the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino. There are some historic artifacts on display near the registration desk, including gaming ledgers from the 1900s. Right off of Fremont Street is a Mob Museum and a Neon museum, which also gives you a chance to learn a little bit about the local history.

At night, Fremont Street comes to life with street performers, a light show, and even free live music performances.
